16 th November: Sara Grey and Kieron Means
Sarah's singing reflects her great knowledge of traditional music; equally at home with a gentle lyric or a harsh account of life on the frontier, she is ‘well-known for the emotional power of her singing, her mesmeric frailed banjo style, and her deep knowledge of traditional song'. This evening she will be joined by her son Kieron Means , a singer of primarily traditional songs from the US and UK. His voice is especially striking, achieving the rare combination of a high lonesome edge with a warm richness of timbre.

Support: Paul Goodwin
Goodwin's understated vocal style sets his thoughtful, often miserable lyrics against gorgeous, mostly simplistic music, in uncluttered arrangements. He can silence an audience, give them all goose bumps and send them home with a warm glow.

30 th November: Boo Hewerdine
An enormously prolific and gifted singer songwriter, who has written for Eddi Reader , Clive Gregson and Christine Collister , Boo was a member of the 80s band The Bible before he left to pursue a solo career. His sixth solo album, Harmonograph, ‘a quietly gorgeous record full of lyrical, understated and finely crafted songs', features Boo's covers of his own songs, originally made famous by other people. . ‘Boo has also written music for the film adaptation of Nick Hornby's book High Fidelity. Hornby says Boo's music has an ‘ache' which is ‘ probably pop music's rarest, most valuable commodity: it takes real nerve to prize regret over rage, and tenderness over threat.' Simply beautiful music.

7 th December: Last Night's Fun
The established trio of Denny Bartley (guitar, vocals) Nick Scott (Uilleann pipes), and Chris Sherburn (Anglo concertina and vocals), famous for their breathtaking virtuosity, creative musical arrangements and humorous banter, is now joined by All-Britain and All-Ireland bodhran champion Ciaran Boyle. With Denny Bartley's syncopated rhythms as the driving force and backbone of the band, Nick's mastery of the Uillean pipes, and Chris Sherburn's ability to play concertina as though he was born with one in his hands lively tune playing, their playing of predominantly Irish music absolutely sizzles.
